Antique Weidlich Brothers Schnauzer Metal Pill Box OldUp for bid is a most unusual little metal box. It has a large schnauzer dog on the lid, presumable used as the handle. Box very art deco in style. Has the raised metal crest of the lambda chi alpha fraternity on the lid as well. This is the original lambda chi crest, pre-dating the theta kpapa nu merger, which occurred in the late 1930's. Inside is very ornate, with four spots to keep pills, make-up of some sort or even small jewelry? Really not sure what this was uesd for. Box has a maker's mark on the bottom side that reads w. B. Mfg co and has teh number 696. I believe this refers to the weidlich brothres as the manufacturer. No indiaction of what kind of metal this is. A gorgeous item, in excellent condition overall. The frat crest is in perfetc condition as well, with no fading or smoothing.
